The Office of Career Services and the Office for Postdoctoral Affairs will host an engaging, entertaining presentation by Peter Fiske, scientist, entrepreneur, and author of Put Your Science to Work: The Take-Charge Career Guide for Scientists.
Fiske received his Ph.D. in Geological and Environmental Sciences from Stanford University in 1993 and an MBA from the Haas School of Business at U.C. Berkeley in 2002. He is a nationally recognized author and lecturer on the subject of leadership and career development for young scientists and engineers.
He'll talk about an array of careers beyond academia, as well as how to market your PhD skills to land a great job. His proactive job-search strategies will make this program relevant for PhD candidates across the disciplines, not just in the sciences.
