Alumni Day 2013 Recap
Headlined by Professor William Kirby’s keynote entitled, Can China Lead?, this year’s Alumni Day generated record numbers, with close to 300 alumni in attendance. It is an event that has become a beloved tradition amongst GSAS alumni, offering attendees the opportunity to reengage with the vibrant intellectual life of the Graduate School and to reconnect with friends and colleagues.
The Art of Giving
An Alumni Council member traces a path from Harvard to the Art Institute of Chicago — and back again. Suzanne McCullagh knew she wanted to work in museums even before coming to Harvard for a doctorate in fine arts. It wasn’t a typical path among classmates aiming for academia, but McCullagh found inspiration in faculty mentors and at the Fogg Museum to fuel her ambitions.
GSAA Hosts Kick-Off Celebration for Students
Get Social — a DudleyFest After-Party! August 29, 3:30-5 pm; Dudley House Courtyard. The Graduate School Alumni Association is kicking off the 2012-2013 academic year by hosting its first-ever social gathering for incoming and continuing GSAS students on the afternoon of Orientation Day. The party will start immediately following DudleyFest, the annual resource fair that connects GSAS students to the opportunities available to them at Harvard.
Save the Date for GSAS Alumni Weekend
The Graduate School's annual spring Alumni Weekend has been scheduled for April 5-6, 2013, and we hope you'll plan to join us in Cambridge for the festivities. Graduate alumni of Astronomy are invited back to campus for a reunion celebration on April 5, and all alumni are encouraged to attend Alumni Day on April 6. Details and registration information will be available soon!
A Milestone Moment
At Alumni Day on April 14, 2012, four attendees who were celebrating the 25th or 50th anniversaries of their GSAS degrees received engraved silver bowls as tokens of congratulations from the Graduate School Alumni Association.
