HILS Home > Academic Resources > Fellowship Information
There is a wide array of 'outside' predoctoral science fellowship funds (e.g., from non-Harvard funding sources) available to HILS PhDs, and we have compiled a directory of them below--sortable by alphabet, interest group, application date, and PhD study stage. These non-Harvard resources can be used to help support--or even augment--the University's financial aid package, and we encourage you to look them over.
If you are interested in applying for outside life sciences fellowships, we also encourage you to check in with the the Graduate School of Arts & Sciences (GSAS) Fellowships Office. The Fellowships Office provides a range of services to assist Harvard life sciences PhDs in their search for fellowship funding, and advises graduate students on issues related to professional development. The Fellowships Office website contains comprehensive information about the fellowship application process as well as the GSAS fellowships database.
GSAS Fellowships Director Cynthia Verba is pleased to offer individual fellowship counseling services to HILS students. She is also available to do on-site fellowship workshops for individual HILS departments. She may be contacted at cverba@fas.harvard.edu, 617-495-1816.
Information from the Office of Career Services on CVs and cover letters you can use to help your fellowships applications can be found at the OCS web page.
Any HILS student interested in postdoctoral fellowships should begin with the Fellowships Office's Guide to Postdoctoral Fellowships.
A directory of outside science fellowships that our HILS students have applied for and received in the past appears below.
We are always interested in expanding and updating this page. If you have a suggestion for a change or for something to add, please e-mail us.
