Exploring Nonacademic Pathways This Fall

The GSAS team at the Office of Career Services announces the fall 2012 line-up of programs, workshops, and resources to help you define and plan for a successful nonacademic career. See the listing below, and check the OCS/GSAS Google calendar for the most up-to-date schedule and descriptions of all the programs. Drop-in hours are offered at OCS on Wednesdays, 1–4 pm.

Job Acceleration Work Group

August 31, September 7-October 26
Fridays, 10:00-11:30am

Learn how to best present yourself to prospective nonacademic employers in industries such as consulting, finance, patent law, biotech/pharma, etc. Join this multi-session program designed to help you:
• View your credentials from an employer’s perspective.
• Learn the details of the recruiting process.
• Hear more about what employers are looking for.
• Perfect your “elevator speech.”
• Develop your interviewing skills.
• Learn from other students about what works in the job market.
