GSAS at SACNAS

Posted October 11, 2012

Harvard faculty and administrators will greet prospective applicants in Seattle at the 2012 SACNAS National Conference, an annual event aimed at advancing Hispanics and Native Americans in science. SACNAS (the Society for Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science), taking place on October 11–14, is one of the largest annual gatherings of minority scientists in the country.

In addition to the Harvard SACNAS appearances listed below, Associate Professor Alán Aspuru-Guzik of Harvard's Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology will give a talk. And in an affiliated event, Sheila Thomas, the GSAS assistant dean for diversity and minority affairs, will give a talk to deans and admissions staff from a variety of institutions on best practices for recruiting and supporting minority graduate students.
