The Harvard Innovation Lab is a new and innovative initiative to foster team-based and entrepreneurial activities and deepen interactions among Harvard students, faculty, entrepreneurs, and members of the Allston and Greater Boston community. The I-Lab is sponsoring three challenges this spring, and GSAS students are encouraged to get involved.
The President's Challenge
Have an idea that could change the world for the better? No matter how big or small, or at what stage your idea is at, we encourage you to enter The President’s Challenge! Sponsored by President Drew Faust, this university-wide challenge asks Harvard undergraduates, graduates and postdocs for innovative, entrepreneurial solutions in our five global issue areas – Learning; Energy & Environment; Health; Disaster Preparation & Relief and The Arts. Finalists will receive mentoring and $5,000 each to help them develop their ideas, before participating in a “Demo Day”, where they will be in the running to win up to $100,000. The Deans’ Health and Life Sciences Challenge
The Deans’ Health and Life Sciences Challenge is seeking undergraduates, graduates and postdocs from across all schools and disciplines at Harvard to explore, formulate and propose solutions addressing different areas of health and life sciences, from health delivery to stem cell and regenerative biology. The Deans’ Cultural Entrepreneurship Challenge
The Deans’ Cultural Entrepreneurship Challenge asks students to create venture based solutions for expanding the role of the arts in society and supporting the arts and artists in a sustainable manner. The Challenge calls upon Harvard undergraduate, graduate and postdoc teams to develop solutions that provide the financial, social, and organizational infrastructure necessary for arts and artists to survive and thrive. Leading up to the submission date, the i-lab will host programming to help prospective applicants meet and form teams, learn more about cultural entrepreneurship, and better understand the submission process, please check the i-lab’s event calendar for updates.
