Department Listing

The Faculty of Arts and Sciences, the largest of Harvard's faculties, serves both the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences and Harvard College. The Faculty of Arts and Sciences, with more than 700 scholars, offers approximately 1,400 courses each year and comprises the departments, divisions, and committees listed below. Applicants for special student or visiting fellow status can specify an affiliation with one of these.

The graduate and professional schools at Harvard, such as Business Administration, Dental Medicine, Design, Divinity, Education, Government, Law, Medicine, and Public health each have separate faculties, programs, and facilities. If it is one of the graduate and professional schools in which you are interested, please contact the admissions office in that school to find out about fellowship or other opportunities.

Special Students may enroll in graduate-level or undergraduate-level courses. Enrollment is each class is subject to the permission of the instructor, which is granted at the beginning of each academic term.
