This program does not admit applicants for the AM degree; only those applying to the PhD are considered for admission, although in some subjects the AM degree may be awarded incidentally to PhD candidates.

No application for admission to the Department of the Classics will be considered complete unless accompanied by a recent sample of the student's written work (e.g., term paper, senior thesis, master's essay, etc.). The sample ideally should be fifteen pages in length.
